Kidney Transplant

 

A kidney may be donated from a deceased person with the consent of their family, or may be from a living donor such as a family member ( a blood relative or a spouse/partner) or from a friend or from an altruistic donor.

 

SAKA has funded a series of short videos which are used by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. Thess cover all the basic aspects of having a kidney transplant, from making the initial decision through to the operation itself and aftercare.
