Parade of Athletes and Opening Ceremony
The Parade of Athletes took place on the Thursday evening. The competitors and supporters gathered in Tudor Square which soon became awash with colour as the Teams assembled and were entertained by music and dancers. The Sheffield Adults Team looked splendid in their red kit as they got togther outside the Crucible Theatre ready to take up the rear of the parade
The Parade made its way through the Winter Garden, then through the city centre to Barkers Pool
The Opening Ceremony took place in Sheffield City Hall with speeches and entertainment
